Other than usual meters, the Rheonik mass flowmeter is a torsion swinger
- No loss of accuracy under changing pressure conditions.
- Torsion is less vibration sensitive (vibration is horizontal or vertical but not torsional thus has little effect).
- Active measurement is entire top half of omega tube - decoupled from process piping.
- Permits operation at higher pressures.
- Omega tube bending is smooth thus there is little pressure drop (unlike multi circle designs).
- Omega form makes torsion swinging movement possible.
- Requirement for secondary containment is eliminated.
Other designs have a bending motion which significantly increases stress and may
a cause of fatigue at weld points resulting in increased tube fracture failures.
